Lara Drasin is a writer/performer from New Jersey, where humor is an essential survival skill.
She earned bachelor’s degrees in journalism and sociology at NYU and later went back to school at UCLA to earn her master’s degree in social science. After several years writing Serious Things™ as a journalist, crisis PR strategist and social science researcher, she figured out that her coping mechanism of illuminating the humor in every situation would probably find a more appreciative audience in the comedy world.
Lara moved to LA from NYC in 2015 and studied improv and sketch comedy at The Pack Theater, Second City, and iO West (may it rest in peace). She has performed standup at the Hollywood Improv and the Comedy Store in LA, and written sketches for the web series Cory and the Wongnotes.
You can see her current work monthly and online with The Pack Theater’s house sketch team Wiggle Room (@wiggleroomsketch).
