WHY STUDY AT THE PACK THEATER?
The Pack was founded in 2007 as “The Miles Stroth Workshop” by Miles Stroth, who trained under Del Close at iO Chicago and was a member of The Family, the landmark improv team that also included Adam McKay, Matt Besser, Ian Roberts. Since then it has grown into one of LA's most active independent comedy theaters, with classes offered across improv, sketch, stand-up, character, clown, and TV writing.
What sets the Pack apart from larger training centers is its commitment to teaching a range of approaches rather than a single house style. Teachers come from iO, Second City, UCB, The Groundlings, Steppenwolf, and beyond, giving students exposure to multiple comedy traditions in one place. The majority of classes are held in-person at the new Los Feliz space, with online options available for most programs.
Teacher credits include SNL, Adult Swim, Comedy Central, FOX, Netflix, Hulu, and many more. Student alumni have gone on to perform and write at every major comedy platform, from legacy TV networks to TikTok and Instagram.
